These studies are from an afternoon spent with a dance class. The group were rehearsing in preparation for performances around Chinatown to celebrate the imminent moon festival, so apart from very quick warm up games, the seasoned troupe threw themselves into one traditional dances after another. It was incredibly impressive how the dancers could perform a series of very different and precisely choreographed dances so capably during the couple of hours I spent with them. There are much more sketches from these sessions, I’ll be sure to share some more of them with you as soon as I have them sprayed and scanned.
