I travel to Shanghai regularly to visit family
and like you said Chinatown Sydney is NOT China,
however often
i love just letting my thought get lost while wandering around Chinatown Sydney,
smelling the food mixtures sweet- sour-fishy, fruits and incense ,
hearing the music and the peoples happy chattering,
enjoying the crazy bright colour combinations in all directions
and best of all tasting the tofu, fish, fresh green vegtable , chilli, Char Sui, Steaming hot bowls of soup
and there i am back in real China and loving it .

[...] We are an architecture office located in Sydney. Take a look at our projects, read the blog, or get in contact. Chinatown Comics Matt Huynh and Gallery 4A are compiling stories of Sydney’s Chinatown that Huynh will rework into a comicbook. An earlier project by Huynh, took a similar approach, chronicling stories around his hometown in the Cabramatta/Canley Vale area. If you have a story to tell about this district in Sydney, send Matt and email. [...]

That's very kind Rachel, thank you very much! I've been quite looking forward to getting way from the table for some observational drawing, so these sessions have been a gift. Often these demand more intuition, where the confluence of emotion and intellect is needed to access the immediate future for my chunk of charcoal to 'step' in time with the dancers.

Matt - Your sketches are absolutely stunning. You have captured the movement, in fact the very essence of 'what it is to move' in the way your dancers flutter across the page. I can't help but wonder, 'what are these dancers thinking and feeling' as these leap from your hand and onto the page.
